OLD BARN INVENTORY
The North Oyster and Area Historical Society (NOAHS), is conducting an old barn inventory in our area. The wooden barns of the past are rapidly disappearing mainly because they are too expensive to maintain or restore. NOAHS is seeking to find and document these structures and we invite the owners of such buildings to participate in this important project. If you have an old barn, be it large or small, and live in the Yellow Point, North Oyster, Cedar, Cassidy, South Wellington, Extension or Duke Point areas and anywhere in between, we would be delighted to hear from you. Once we have collected the information the results will be compiled and made available to the public.
If you think you might like to participate, please click the button below to access and complete the questionnaire. Photographs can be submitted by email to: jbunning@shaw.ca.

PET MANNERS CLASSES
Basic Manners: 4 weeks
Price: $160.00
For dogs 6 months and older
Suitable for dogs with no previous training, or dogs new to your family.
Intermediate Manners: 4 weeks
For dogs 6 months and older.
Suitable for dogs that have some training but still need help and practice with basic skills.
Scent Detection
Scent detection is a fun activity for our pet dogs to do what they do best, use their noses!
No prior training is required, so it is suitable for dogs of any age, from puppies to seniors.
It is low-impact brainwork, so it is good for dogs with physical limitations. We train the dogs one at a time in a low-distraction environment. This means that dogs that cannot work around other dogs, or that need a quiet environment, can also play.
For more information about classes, please email info@caninecompanions.ca
NEW MUSEUM HOURS:
Visit our Museum at our new hours starting March 05 and March 19 and every other Sunday from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM.
BAT GUANO ORGANIC FERTILIZER 10-3-1
Bat guano is a natural fertilizer that is safe for both indoor and outdoor applications. It will benifit vegetables, herbs, ornamentals and soft fruits. Guano may be applied as a soil conditioner, top dressing, or infusion for watering. The nitrogen level may vary between 7% and 10% and is quickly released. This is quite a strong level of nitrogen and so guano should be used sparingly to prevent burning or excessive growth.
North Oyster Community Centre is offering guano for sale at the following rates while supplies last:
1.5 kg bag $35
1 kg bag $25
500 gm bag $15
250 gm bag $8
